Network

The WATCHOUT production computer manages an unlimited number of media servers, or display computers, on a network. More often than not, you'll use a network switch, but if there is only one media server in the system, you can connect the production computer and media server directly.

We recommend that you keep your WATCHOUT system on a local network, not connected to the Internet. Using managed network switches can also cause operational issues due to network traffic restrictions.

As you add new media to your presentation, or revise existing media, the changes are automatically transferred to the media servers. The network also transfers your display configurations, timeline programming and other aspects of your presentation.

With all that taken care of, very little information needs to be sent over the network during playback, avoiding network congestion.
