New light festival debuts in Spain
The first Umbra Light Festival took place in February 2019 in Álava, capital of the Vitoria-Gasteiz region in northern Spain. The three-day festival used the grand architecture of the historical center as its backdrop, with 20 installations designed to present a new nocturnal image to the 84,000 visitors.
The 61-meter wide facade of the Plaza de España (featured above) was transformed by "Eclipse", an artwork by dLux and Oido. The four-minute show was programmed in WATCHOUT by Luís Badosa and plays out on three high-power projectors.
