Dataton previews motion tracking integration with WATCHOUT

AV manufacturer Dataton gives visitors to ISE the first look at an exciting future feature within its WATCHOUT multi-display system: real-time motion tracking integration. The sneak peek in Amsterdam demonstrates WATCHOUT interacting with a CAST BlackTrax system to precision-map a complex moving object.

“The ability to integrate real-time motion tracking systems will be specially welcomed by the theatre, attractions and live event industries where our WATCHOUT system is already widely used,” says Dataton CEO, Lars Sandlund. The future feature will support systems using RTTrPM (Real-Time Tracking Protocol - Motion) and is being demonstrated with a six-camera BlackTrax system at ISE. The BlackTrax feature will be available in Dataton rack servers. 

In addition to showing real-time tracking integration, the Dataton booth has plenty of opportunities for visitors to delve deeper into key features in its WATCHOUT system. An international team of experts will man demo stations focussing on projection-mapping, interactivity, and video-over-IP. A short overview for newcomers to the system will also be presented throughout the day.

“The latest WATCHOUT release added a slew of features, including support for NewTek’s NDI video protocol, ASIO and WASAPI audio channels, and import of auto-alignment display data,” says Lars Sandlund. “These all serve to empower users by speeding up the work process, increasing flexibility and opening up for even more impactful shows. We look forward to explaining all these new features at booth 12 E90!”
