Dataton acquires immersive media specialist IXEL

Dataton is pleased to announce the acquisition of software developer and production company, IXEL. Based in Sweden, IXEL specializes in the development of software for immersive environments and content production for fulldome applications. With the acquisition, Dataton strengthens both R&D and project management teams in the industry-key sectors of virtual reality, simulation software and film production.

“The team at IXEL has proven expertise of software development for fulldome and immersive 3D environments, both of which are already important application areas for our award-winning WATCHOUT multi-display software and associated products,” said Lars Sandlund, COO at Dataton.
